Other aggravating factors include that the woman was injured in the assaults committed by Laite, O’Reilly said.While the pre-sentence report completed in the matter was positive and noted Laite has the support of her police colleagues and family, O’Reilly noted there has been no acceptance of responsibility or acknowledgement of guilt by Laite.
Laite’s lawyer, Robby Ash, suggested she be given a suspended sentence with probation for a period of 18 to 24 months.
