Why: The Cult After Dark series from the producers of the Victoria Film Festival offers three films considered to be high water marks of their respective genres. Martin Scorsese’s mob classic, Goodfellas, kicks the series off on Saturday, followed by David Lynch’s noir nightmare, Blue Velvet , and Michael Mann’s police procedural, Heat . The trio of films cover the bases where cinematic classics are concerned, so they will be familiar favourites for many.
