The high-profile lawyer and former cop was found to have engaged in professional misconduct after several breaches of his bail and failing to notify the Queensland Law Society.

A criminal lawyer facing trial over allegations of fraud and money laundering will be struck off the state’s legal register after he engaged in professional misconduct.

But after several breaches of his bail, Queensland’s Legal Services Commissioner applied to the state’s Civil and Administrative Tribunal for Magill’s name to be removed from the legal roll. Magill was found in a Valley nightclub about 12.40am in October. He surrendered to police, was held in watchhouse cells, and was fined $1500.

Magill, who has been working in marketing and property development for three years, submitted that a lengthy suspension should instead be imposed.
