Nathaniel Train’s wife had “genuine concern for his well-being” when she reported him missing before he, his brother and sister-in-law shot two Queensland police officers and a civilian dead in Wieambilla, police say. 7NEWS

That history, Lindford said, comprised a 2014 driving offence and an incident at the Queensland-NSW border at Goondiwindi in December 2021 when he illegally drove through a COVID-19 blockade while carrying two licensed guns, before getting bogged.Police officers Rachel McCrow and Matthew Arnold were shot dead in the ambush.That latter incident sparked an arrest warrant, which the officers knew about when they went to Gareth Train’s property.

“We knew very little about the Trains and there was nothing that would have caused a particular flag for our members that attended that day,” said Linford.
