Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga - The Philippine National Police (PNP) in Central Luzon has reported a 41.320percent decrease in crime incidents throughout the region.
– The Philippine National Police in Central Luzon has reported a 41.320percent decrease in crime incidents throughout the region.During the enhanced community quarantine from March 17 to May 15, crime incidents dropped to 3,673 from the 9,107 recorded in the same period in 2019.
“This only goes to show that amidst the enormous tasks being performed by our men on the ground, We continue to level-up our anti-criminality measures particularly on our anti-drug campaign along with the continuous strengthening of our police community relations,” PNP Central Luzon Director Brigadier General Rhodel Sermonia said. During the PNP’s multi-media platform program “Rektang Konek, Aksyon Agad”, Sermonia acknowledged that the ECQ restrictions contributed much to the lower crime incidence in the provinces in Central Luzon. “There is indeed a relationship between the involvement of the community and crime reduction. Through our relentless community policing, there has been a notable crime reduction” Sermonia concluded. He also noted that the modified enhanced community quarantine will not loosen the precautionary measures of the police at checkpoints and control points in Central Luzon. “We continue to intensify the conduct of operations against all forms of criminality even in this crisis, and we will have no let-up thru our enhanced focused police operations” he stressed.
