B.C. health officials are expected to announce a plan for the rollout of the new booster shot on Tuesday.

B.C. is set to begin distributing it to those 18-and-older as soon as supply arrives, which should be sometime this month. According to Dr. Brian Conway, medical director of the Vancouver Infectious Diseases Centre, this vaccine will be significantly better than the original vaccine. He called it “a significant advancement” that we should embrace.Q: Is Omicron the dominant strain?Yes. It is the main strain of the virus circulating in B.C. and makes up 82 per cent of the virus circulating in Canada.
That means people will be more exposed in an enclosed area. Bach recommends the use of masks, not only for COVID-19, but also for other viruses that will emerge in this period of the year.“Yes, it has been done and it is considered safe,” said Bach.
