KUCHING: Sarawak reported four new Covid-19 cases on Thursday (June 18), including two Indonesian workers who have gone missing.

The state disaster management committee said the workers tested positive while applying for their work permits.

"Contact tracing and investigation into the source of infection is being carried out. Unfortunately, both workers have disappeared and yet to be located. "Employers should be on the lookout and inform the police if they come across two foreign workers hiding at their sites," the committee said in a statement Thursday .

It also advised employers to screen their foreign workers, following several positive cases among foreign workers in recent days.One is a 33-year-old man who took a Covid-19 test to find out his status."Contact tracing is being done for both cases. The source of their infection is also being investigated," the committee said, adding that the number of confirmed cases in Sarawak now stood at 565.The number of recoveries remains at 534 or 94.5% of the cases to date.

"Efforts to locate them started on Wednesday night and continued on Thursday," he was reported saying.
