Starting Saturday, you’ll be able to enter Canada without being vaccinated.

The federal government announced Monday COVID-19 border and travel restrictions will expire September 30 and will no longer be in effect as of October 1. They say some of the factors that influenced the decision were modelling that shows Canada has largely passed the peak of the Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 fueled wave, the country’s high vaccination rates, lower hospitalization and death rates as well as the availability and use of vaccine boosters, rapid test and treatments for COVID-19.

Although the masking requirement is being lifted, it’s still strongly recommended travellers wear a well-fitted, high quality mask during their trip. Cruise measures are also being lifted and travellers will no longer have to show a pre-board test, be vaccinated, or use ArriveCAN.Ctrl+Enter
