A 58-year-old fitness instructor in Courtenay has been charged with sexual assault against a youth between September and December 2022.
Comox Valley RCMP started investigating the allegations in January 2023 and in February the fitness instructor, Richard Zinger, was arrested then released on conditions to not have contact with anyone under the age of 19 and not be in a position of trust or authority for people under 19.RCMP believe there may be additional witnesses or people with information that will aid in the investigation.
“We believe there may be witnesses out there with information about these incidents and would like to encourage them to come forward and speak with one of our investigators.” Anyone with information is asked to call the Comox Valley RCMP at 338-1321 and reference file 2023-819.
