The two\u002Dyear prison term handed a Calgary mom who abused her four children over a 10\u002Dyear period has been doubled by the Court of Appeal.
She regularly choked her victims and struck them with a spatula and belt.
“The presentence report indicates that the respondent took no responsibility for her role in the offences, had no remorse, and showed no interest in seeing her four children,” the judges wrote. “This was a 10-year reign of terror. The respondent was convicted of 10 separate assault type offences against four children. The gravity of the offences was high,” the appeal judges said.
