Visitors to Bondi Beach face more time limits on street parking, but the local council says this will make it easier to find a parking space.

Beachgoers driving to Bondi Beach face tougher limits on parking while residents will be given more access to free, unlimited on-street parking spots amid growing traffic congestion on Sydney roads.

“We know how frustrating it has become for residents in these areas to find a park near their homes,” she said. “I struggle to find a parking spot as I live close to the beach in an Art Deco block of eight units with no off-street parking,” she said.Kulakauskas supports the extension of residential parking zones and called for a ban on new driveways and better public transport.

Goltsman said there had been a reduction in public street parking, with spaces replaced by car-sharing zones, parklets and expanded sidewalks.
