Ticketmaster controls about 70 per cent of the US ticketing market by itself which, when combined with Live Nation’s extensive interests across tour promotion and management of artists and venues, amounts to a “monopoly” for which fans and artists pay the price, according to the suit.Success for the department would mean Ticketmaster having to separate from Live Nation in all 32 countries where it operates, given its parent is domiciled in the US.
Only 40 per cent of respondents said they understood the various fees and charges around tickets, such as theMeanwhile, artists and venues using the duopoly to sell tickets continue to be charged a fee per ticket sold, according to TixSuite founder James McGlinn.
