A YouTube star has revealed he declined an invitation to see the Titanic shipwreck ahead of the Titan submersible imploding on the exact same journey.
He posted a screenshot of the invitation to Twitter, which read “the team would be stoked to have you along”.
The YouTuber did not mention his reason to pass up the offer, but his followers were quick to reply with “good choice” and “bullet dodged”. Mr Bloom said his son had concerns of risks including a sperm whale or giant squid attack compromising the hull, which Mr Rush dismissed as “very stupid” and stressed the safety of the vessel.
OceanGate’s Titan made headlines when it lost signal from its mothership Polar Prince less than two hours into its travel down to the Titanic wreck site on Sunday June 18. The United States Coast Guard on Thursday concluded all five passengers had died after a catastrophic loss of pressure likely imploded the vessel.
