Halifax District RCMP Seek Public Assistance to Identify Driver | SaltWireCORNWALL, P.E.I. — The Town of Cornwall, in partnership with the Cornwall and Area Watershed Group , has planted new trees this fall, to make up for lost ones during post-tropical storm Fiona, which hit P.E.I. just over a year ago.

“So, we replanted in Hyde Park, which is a park in Cornwall. Where there were some trees that came down, we kind of supplemented the area with more species to make it more diverse.”Hundreds of trees were lost after the storm last fall in the Cornwall area, said Billy Ramsay, infrastructure supervisor with the Town of Cornwall.

The areas that were most severely affected were the primary focus of the project. Approximately 320 new trees have been planted in Hyde Park, and some were introduced in locations that previously lacked trees, MacLean said.
