Ahead of an inquest into a police shooting at a Queensland party precinct, the family made social media posts lashing police over the death of their son.
Two Queensland police officers involved in the shooting of 24-year-old West Australian man Luke Gilbert have threatened to sue his family for half a million dollars over what they allege are false and defamatory online posts.
Representing the officers, Craig Pratt of law firm Gilshenan & Luton told the family some of the posts caused serious harm to his clients, and had incited hatred.Loading The Gilberts said they found it difficult to read the legal letters detailing the hurt and distress the officers had experienced.
