KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 — After garnering RM3million in two weeks of showing, controversial local filmthat they’re currently in the early process of producing the second film despite having received objections from some local critics and audience members.
Chong added that the previous controversies on the first film didn’t break his spirit in producing the sequel, which is expected to begin principal photography next year. At the moment, Chong and his team are in their initial planning stage and sorting out the actors who will appear inChong revealed that for the second film, they will be collaborating with talents from neighbouring country Indonesia.“A few names have been shortlisted including some from Indonesia but the decisions are still being made,” he said.
Chong added that the sequel will be an entirely ‘fresh piece’ and it will not pick up where the first movie ended.“I can’t share further details as it is a project for next year. Our team is also currently working on a few other titles this year,” he said.film follows a group of friends who are vacationing together. After a daring bet, the group sets out to a mysterious island where darkness awaits.included local big names such as Alif Satar, Amelia Henderson, Sanjna Suri and Ms Puiyi.
After the outrage, the Malaysia Film Censorship Board issued a statement saying that the trailer submitted to them featured different content compared to its online version.The film was also banned in Terengganu even though it has already been approved for public viewing by LPF.
