Child care resource contract shifted elsewhere
The Terrace Women’s Resource Center is laying of four full time workers and two part time ones after losing a provincial contract which supplied the majority of the money it needs to keep operating.
The layoffs will leave just the full time director and two part time workers employed but the center has hopes of receiving a grant later this spring. Suderman said the challenge of meeting basic expenses has faced the women’s center for more than 40 years. “The successful applicant will be providing one primary location and two smaller locations to serve the families in these three school districts,” it said in a provided release.
