A 25-year-old construction worker was arrested for allegedly raping his 21-year-old neighbor in her home in Cebu City, Philippines.
A 25-year-old construction worker was arrested after his 21-year-old neighbor accused him of raping her inside her house around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, December 25, in Sitio Mansanitas, Barangay Cogon, Cebu City .The suspect, identified as alias Kerwin, who has a live-in partner, is currently detained at the Inayawan Police Station.
Police Lieutenant Christian Darcy Fat, chief of the Inayawan Police Station, told SunStar Cebu that the victim was sleeping in her room when the suspect broke in and sexually assaulted her. According to the victim, someone caressed her intimate areas, removed her short pants, and inserted his private organ into her. 'Nagtuo lang siya nga iyang kapuyo maoy nag kwan niya!pagmata niya dili mandi-ay. Mikisi-kisi ang biktima gisikaran ang suspek dayon nangayo siyag pabanang,' Fat said.(When she woke up, she realized it was not her live-in partner who had sex with her. After that, she resisted, kicked the culprit, and shouted for assistance). The suspect hurriedly left, but was caught during a follow-up operation. Kerwin acknowledged the crime in an interview with SunStar Cebu. He said that he was intoxicated at the time of the occurrence. However, he admitted that he liked the victim. He went on to say that he got attracted to the victim, who was wearing shorts pants. According to him, the victim was also intoxicated. He expressed regret for his actions. Joy, the suspect's live-in partner, expressed hope that the victim would forgive Kerwin and refrain from filing a complaint against him since they still have four young children who rely on the suspect's support. She claimed that she did not expect Kerwin to do the crime. She said that prior to the incident, Kerwin asked her permission to drink because it was Christmas Day. (GPL
