The New South Wales Education Standards authority are redesigning how consent is taught in schools as part of a 'once in a generation' curriculum review. Sexual Consent Activist Chanel Contos said students should be taught on a national level with a more “comprehensive, holistic consent education”. “When I say holistic I mean talking about these things such as power imbalances,” Ms Contos told Sky News Australia. “Talking about how age and money and gender can create imbalances in the way that these sorts of conversations are negotiated. “I’m saying we start teaching concepts of consent.”
