Connor Zary continues to impress the Calgary Flames after a strong performance against the Edmonton Oilers last night

“Yeah, I think it’s gone well,” said Zary, a 21-year-old Saskatoon native, of camp. “I think I came in ready after last year, when I didn’t get the chance. This year, I think I’ve felt good — I worked on my skating and worked on my strength all summer. So coming to camp, I wanted to just kind of show myself and prove myself a little bit. So it’s been good.”
So finally getting on the ice against some of the NHL’s superstars in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl on Friday night held special significance for Zary. Zary, who’s usually a centreman, played on the wing with Cole Schwindt and Sonny Milano.
