The posted email included details about online Google Hangouts meetings for Muslim students and a “Black Excellence” group as well as meetups for 2SLGBTQ+ and transgender clubs and a “virtual elementary rainbow club.” Pfahl deleted the initial tweet including the email information Saturday evening, but not before it ignited a firestorm online. Some of her supporters claimed it was wrong for the school board to host such clubs without parents’ knowledge and said the online hangouts make youth vulnerable to predators. Others were appalled by what Pfahl had done, arguing it put students at risk and targeted already vulnerable youth.
