When it comes to celebrating the music industry in Nova Scotia, it’s not just the existing industry the spotlight is pointed at, but also emerging youth talent that could someday be a big part of the music industry scene.

A local youth band in the region is Sweet Spot, made up of Amy Hirschfeld, Arwen Brobbin and Olivia Smith. The three-piece band plays a variety of classic and modern music. Smiles Photography/Contributed - Tina ComeauAside from sharing information and showcasing musical talent, the conference will highlight success stories of young people in the Nova Scotia music industry and music scene.

Dana Beeler, the events and strategic development manager for Music Nova Scotia, says they had visited Ignite earlier in the year to talk with a group of young people about Nova Scotia Music Week and the music industry. In speaking with Cleveland, and the interest he expressed on Ignite’s behalf to be involved in NSMW, the idea for the conference started taking shape.
