Concert-goers headed to the Sydney Olympic Park this weekend have been warned not to drive to the venue as Pre-booked parking has sold out, with over 120,000 people expected to flock to three concerts in one night.
The huge expected crowds have seen warnings from authorities for people to plan ahead, travel by public transport, avoid driving and expect delays as pre-booked parking in the Sydney Olympic Park precinct has sold out. The Harry Styles concerts on March 3 and March 4 will see 70,000 attendees each night, with queuing starting from 8am both days.On the night of Styles' Saturday concert, Taiwanese singer Jay Chou will perform at Giants Stadium - which has a capacity of 24,000 - while that same night '90s boyband Backstreet Boys will perform to almost 20,000 at Qudos Bank Arena.
"Public transport is the best way to get to Sydney Olympic Park and is made even easier for ticket holders for the Harry Styles concerts because the cost of travel on public transport is included in your ticket – just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding services," Transport for NSW chief operations officer Howard Collins said.
"We'll have plenty of frequent trains and major event buses running to and from Sydney Olympic Park. All the details on extra services are available at"Fans should plan to arrive early to avoid the increased demand on public transport and heavy traffic. Queuing should also be expected for services as customers head home."
