A 28-year-old driver was charged after a concerned citizen approached police Tuesday night

A 28-year-old is facing an impaired driving charge after a community member expressed concern to a Sault Ste. Marie patrol officer in the east end on Tuesday night.

Around 8:30 p.m., police say an officer on Chambers Avenue was approached about a potentially impaired driver.A breath sample was taken and the driver allegedly registered over the legal limit. Police say the driver was arrested and provided two more breath samples, both of which registered results over the legal limit.None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
