KUCHING: A committee involving the federal and Sarawak government will be established to decide whether the administration of Bintulu Port will be handed over to the state government, says Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.

KUCHING: A committee involving the federal and Sarawak government will be established to decide whether the administration of Bintulu Port will be handed over to the state government, says Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof .

He added that a meeting involving the relevant agency would be held to obtain the views of various parties about the port’s status. Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg had said in January that Sarawak would discuss with the Federal Government to not carry on with Bintulu Port as a federal port.

In other developments, Fadillah said that the Sabah and Sarawak governments requested that undeveloped Federal Government owned land to be returned to their respective state governments.
