The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has identified around 300,000 'flying voters' who have multiple voter registrations. These individuals could face charges if they vote in the May 2025 midterm elections. The poll body plans to file cases against those involved in issuing questionable barangay certificates.
Around 300,000 individuals found to have multiple voter registration s are considered “ flying voters ” and would face charges should they cast their votes in the May 2025 midterm elections, the Commission on Elections said on Monday.
Garcia said voters who were issued questionable barangay certificates were an “upgraded” form of flying voters. The poll body observed an “unusual” increase in new registered voters recorded in several areas in the country, including Makati City and Cagayan de Oro.
