Galchenyuk was originally selected third overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2012 NHL Draft. Although he didn’t reach the potential the Canadiens had hoped for him, he does rank fifth among fellow 2012 draftees in points, and third, in games played. He didn’t last a full season in Pittsburgh when he was dealt to Minnesota at the trade deadline in exchange for Jason Zucker. The Ottawa Senators decided to take a chance on him for the 2020-21 season, but he only ended up playing eight games for them, scoring a single point.
