Collingwood has broken a 13 year premiership drought beating Brisbane in the 2023 AFL Grand Final.
In front of a capacity 100,024 strong crowd at the MCG Brisbane and Collingwood played out one of the great Grand Finals with the contest going right down to the wire.
Large sections of the crowd were draped in Collingwood's black and white went berserk in unison as the Magpies won its 16th AFL Premiership. Temperatures soared into the high 20s making it one of the hottest Grand Finals ever played in Melbourne and players instantly dropped to the turf in exhaustion at the final siren.
The entire match was a seesawing affair as both teams enjoyed several leads but neither ever got more than three goals ahead. The play was free-flowing in the first half but as the time ticked down both teams struggled to gain ascendancy as the scoring dried up to a final quarter which included just four goals.Collingwood has won its 16th premiership beating Brisbane in a thrilling AFL Grand Final.
