At approximately 5:20 a.m., on October 4, 2023, Colchester County District RCMP, with assistance from the Nova Scotia RCMP Emergency Response Team and Millbrook RCMP, executed a search warrant at a home on Tower Rd. in Millbrook as part of an ongoing firearms offence investigation. RCMP officers safely arrested a 33-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman. They seized a shotgun, a rifle, two replica firearms, brass knuckles and ammunition.Diaz Mantley of Halifax, age 33, has been charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm , Careless Storage of a Firearm , Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited and Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order . Mantley has been remanded into custody and will appear in Truro Provincial Court later today.
Cynthia Googoo of Millbrook, age 49, has been charged with Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Unsafe Storage of a Firearm . She was released on conditions and will appear in Truro Provincial Court on December 6, 2023.
