Sky News host Peta Credlin has slammed the “cocky” Albanese government for making republican changes without first consulting Australians, following the announcement to remove the Monarch from the $5 note.
After consulting the Albanese government, the Reserve Bank of Australia decided to instead design a new note that prioritises the culture and history of First Australians.
“The Treasurer even called it a ‘simple and near-term change’ which presupposes with those words that becoming a republic is inevitable,” Ms Credlin said.
