A quarantine facility dedicated to Philippine Coast Guard frontliners will be built in its base in Taguig City and is expected to be completed in September.

“Actually, the capacity is 250 people, but some of the accommodation will be for our medical staff. Through God’s intervention and blessing, finally, we pursue this project. In 30 days, it will be realized, once and for all,” said Admiral George Ursabia Jr., Coast Guard commandant.

Ursabia said good quality container vans will be utilized in the construction of the facility. It will be equipped with sewerage, electrical, and air conditioning systems, as well as a modest entertainment facility that may help ease the boredom of frontline personnel during their isolation period. “Once we have this quarantine facility, we can manage our positive cases accordingly and it will prevent our personnel from being exposed to more serious cases in government quarantine facilities,” Ursabia stressed.
