Co-op had originally planned to develop the project itself, but decided to sell the property and have it leased back to infuse cash into the project. Royop, a Calgary-based company with 60 years of experience in the industry, will build the project and manage it long term as it has done with other similar mixed-use projects in the city where a grocer is an anchor tenant.
Parking will be limited during construction, but the two-level underground parkade will be open to residents and customers.
