Crawford had also been charged with interfering with human remains in connection to the homicide case. There was no discussion of that charge at the time his guilty plea to second-degree murder was entered. The report takes some time to prepare. It was suggested it could take two months to complete, and afterward the defence and Crown would require time to review it. This, along with the availability of the Crown and defence attorneys, were factored into consideration when selecting the May 30 sentencing date.
The trial of Robert Charles Rogers is slated to get underway at the Yarmouth Justice Centre this month. TINA COMEAU PHOTO - SaltWire Network Supreme Court Justice Pierre Muise asked that details about the case be read into the court record on Jan. 3 prior to accepting Crawford’s guilty plea to the second-degree murder charge.
