Clive Palmer is seeking $300 billion in damages from the Commonwealth over stalled iron ore projects, and has drafted in former attorney general Christian Porter to help after a High Court loss in 2021.
The suit comes after Mr Palmer lost a High Court case in 2021 which saw emergency legislation passed in Western Australia upheld, and prevented him receiving a $30 billion payout over stalled mining projects in the Pilbara region.

Attorney General Mark Dreyfus said last October that he intended to vigorously fight against the claim.
Former West Australian Premier Colin Barnett sparked the ongoing dispute in 2012 when he rejected Mr Palmer's proposal for an iron ore project in the Pilbara region.
