Harry Tseng said a recent Canadian parliamentary delegation to Taiwan saw firsthand how the island country fought the near constant barrage of misinformation peddled by the Chinese government and its supporters. This includes an app developed by non-governmental group Doublethink Lab that helps to verify news stories submitted by the public, highlighting complete falsehoods and providing important context to half-truths or dated information.
“It’s not entirely 100 per cent fake news. It can be a story with a certain degree of truth and a certain degree of fabrication. Or even more confusing… all truths [but] in different times,” he explained in an interview with
