IPOH: Civil servants will receive their April salary by the 14th of the month, says Datuk Seri Dr Anwar Ibrahim.
The Prime Minister said the decision to change the date from April 17 to April 14 was made to help them with their Hari Raya Aidilfitri preparations.
"The change in dates is to help reduce the burden of civil servants and government retirees in preparing for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations. "This also includes the 2023 Aidilfitri Special Financial Assistance," he told reporters after visiting Bank Simpanan Nasional branch in Meru raya here on Monday .
Earlier, Public Service Department director-general Datuk Dr Zulkapli Mohamed announced that the government had agreed to bring forward the payment of the 2023 Aidilfitri Special Financial Assistance to civil servants and government retirees from April 17 to April 14."These includes padi farmers, fishermen, rubber tapper, uniformed volunteers and pensioners,"
"We heard complaints that it would be too late if the salary and financial assistance were to be given on April 17, hence why we made the decision to make it earlier," he said.
