ALOR GAJAH: Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel rescued a hapless cow that plunged into a fishing pond in Kampung Baru at Taboh Naning here.
Alor Gajah APM's operation, natural disaster and logistic officer Lft Abdul Hadi Baharom commended the two men who saved the animal with minimal equipment."The rescue team arrived at the scene about 30min after receiving the distress call," he said when contacted here on Tuesday .
Abdul Hadi said a 56-year-old farmer contacted APM informing that the cow, a heifer, was drowning in his pond."The situation was also difficult for my men as the cow kept wading deeper into the 30m-long pond," he said.Abdul Hadi said his two men then used all the resources available to hoist the cow.
He said his men finally managed to tie ropes around the cow and switched out the cow to a safer ground using APM'S truck.
