The City of Greater Sudbury’s yard-cleaning bylaw has been amended to allow residents to allow their yards to grow long during the month of May
In a recent media release, the City of Greater Sudbury reminded residents they’re allowed to keep their yards unmowed during the month of May.
No Mow May was created by UK-based conservation charity Plantlife in 2019, and has since spread throughout the globe, where lawns have been allowed to grow long to help feed pollinators. “The movement was first started for roadways and ditches in the U.K., and it is not really applicable to lawns in Ontario,” the University of Guelph expert told Sudbury.com.
