There are five public works depots throughout Greater Sudbury where sandbags are available for residents in need.

“With rain expected to continue throughout the weekend, Greater Sudbury residents who are experiencing flooding on their property are reminded that the City will supply sand and sandbags to those who request them,” they said. Residents “are reminded to use correct posture and lift heavy sandbags with care,” according to the city media release. Residents may also fill an unlimited number of their own bags with the sand provided at the depots. Sandbags are available for purchase at a number of local retailers.
