CITICORE Renewable Energy Corp. (CREC) has signed a supply and services agreement with Sungrow Power Supply Co. Ltd. for its battery energy storage system (BESS) requirements.

5 gigawatt-hours of BESS capacity from Sungrow to be used for its various solar power projects nationwide.Sungrow will also provide support for the engineering and construction design of the storage systems to ensure the optimal application of its various solar projects, the company added.'The immediate development of battery energy storage systems is a necessary step to fulfill the maximum potential of our renewable energy facilities and is crucial to our support for the Department of Energy's ambitious energy transition plan,' CREC President and CEO Oliver Tan said.'With these installed together within our solar facilities, we will be able to provide needed power on a mid-merit basis.'Sungrow said it would be providing CREC with its Power Titan series, which is capable of supporting both direct and alternating current couplings with a lower leverage cost of electricity, higher performance, and easier operations and maintenance.'Through our technology, we will be able to help CREC and the Philippines with its power needs,' Sungrow Vice President of PV and ESS Shawn Shi said.Sungrow is a publicly listed Chinese solar photovoltaic inverter manufacturing company headquartered in Hefei, China. It said that as of June 2024, it had installed around 605 gigawatts of power electronic converters worldwide.CREC shares on Monday fell by 0.89 percent to P3.33 each.
