The high-wire acrobatics of Cirque du Soleil will fill the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre in January with seven performances of the Montreal company’s latest production, Corteo.
Performances of Corteo — which has played to more than 10 million people in 20 countries on four continents — are scheduled to run Jan. 11 through Jan. 14. The production, which premiered in 2005, combines acrobatic feats, comedy and acting “in a mysterious space between heaven and earth,” according to producers.
The show is directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, who oversaw the closing ceremonies for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Tickets for members of Club Cirque, which is free to join, are on-sale now through clubcirque.com. The general public will be able to purchase tickets, which are priced between $55 and $165, starting June 5. They are available through selectyourtickets.com, in person at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre , or by phone from 250-220-2600.
