Places of worship expected to reopen for private prayer on the 15th of June
Faith leaders have worked with the government to allow the safe re-opening houses of worship such as churches and synagogues on June 15.Places of worship have been closed during lockdown with religious leaders having to address their congregation via webcamMinisters praised the “enormous patience” of people unable to mark religious festivals.
Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick said: “Ensuring places of workship can open again, beginning with private prayer by individuals has been my priority. “Their contribution to the common good of our country is clear, as places of solace, comfort, stability and dignity.
