THE Commission on Human Rights 7 nhas started its investigation into the alleged human rights violations committed in the arrest and detention of former Cebu City administrator Collin Rosell last month. CHR 7 Director Arvin Odron told reporters on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, that their central office ordered the probe into alleged misconduct by Cebu City Police Office Director Col. Antonietto Cañete and Waterfront Police Station Chief Maj.
If the CHR 7 finds enough evidence that Rosell’s rights had been violated, cases will be filed against the respondents, according to Odron. On Nov. 22, CHR Executive Director Jacqueline Ann De Guia acknowledged Rosell’s request for an investigation against Cañete, Yango and other police personnel. “Everything was legal”Meanwhile, Lt.
