A 15-year-old Chinese student was allegedly kidnapped in Singapore before crossing over to Malaysia with the suspect willingly on Nov 24.

JOHOR BARU – A Chinese national is expected to be charged in Malaysia on Dec 5 with the kidnapping of a 15-year-old student in Singapore. Johor police chief M. Kumar said the 22-year-old man would be charged under Section 365 of the Penal Code for kidnapping or abducting a person with the intent to wrongfully confine them in secret.The Chinese student was allegedly kidnapped in Singapore on Nov 24 before willingly crossing over to Malaysia with the suspect on the same day.

Her father, a 48-year-old Chinese national, lodged a missing persons report with the Singapore police at about 2.15pm on Nov 25 after his daughter failed to turn up at her school that same day. He also alerted the Johor police that she was missing. The teen was later found by Malaysian police in Kuantan, Pahang, following a raid on Nov 26.
