The China Coast Guard vessel 5901, known as the 'monster ship', has left the coast of Zambales, prompting the Philippine Coast Guard to track another Chinese vessel nearing the area.

The China Coast Guard (CCG) vessel 5901, known as the 'monster ship', has left the coast of Zambales, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported on Wednesday. According to the PCG, the vessel is now approximately 90 nautical miles offshore. However, authorities noted that another Chinese vessel is approaching Pandaquit, Zambales, possibly replacing CCG 5901.

Meanwhile, the PCG is tracking CCG-3103, which departed Guangdong Province yesterday and is heading directly to the 'monster ship''s previous location. As of 3 PM today, CCG-3103 was detected by Canada's Dark Vessel Detection 60 nautical miles from Pandaquit, Zambales. The PCG deployed an Islander helicopter and the BRP Cabra patrol vessel to monitor and challenge CCG-3103's presence as China maintains its illegal presence within the country's exclusive economic zone. Nine large CCG vessels, including the 5901 and 3103, were sighted in the Philippines' EEZ in the disputed West Philippine Sea. The 165-meter, 12,000-ton 'monster ship,' considered the world's largest coast guard vessel, was recently spotted 54 nautical miles from Capones Island, Zambales, within the Philippines' 200-nautical mile EEZ. The 'monster ship' moved near Lubang Island in Occidental Mindoro on Monday morning. The presence of this massive CCG vessel in the country's EEZ has been met with concern by Malacanang.—Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated New
