- China-focused Canadian mining company Silvercorp Metals today reported production figures for the second quarter of its fiscal year 2024 ended September 30, 2023 .
In September quarter 2023, the company produced 2,458 ounces of gold , 1.6 million ounces of silver , 16.1 million pounds of lead and 4.6 million pounds of zinc . The company said that the decrease in silver production was primarily due to lower head grades achieved due to mining sequences at the Ying mining district.
Silvercorp added that production at the GC mine was disrupted for five weeks due to a series of improvement measures and a district-wide cessation of industrial activity associated with improvements made to the provincial power grid. Silvercorp is a Canadian mining company producing silver, gold, lead, and zinc from silver mines in China. The company has measured and indicated silver resources of 210.2 million ounces, including proven and probable reserves of 114.9 million ounces, plus inferred resources of 126.3 million ounces.
