At trial, Sneesby, claiming the 44-year-old came at him with a knife. The two were the only ones in the home at the time of Gladue’s death. After killing Gladue, Sneesby wrapped the body in vapour barrier and placed it in a travel trailer. It remained there until spring when Sneesby moved the trailer to a friend’s property near Athabasca. Crown prosecutor Andre Arseneau said Sneesby stabbed Gladue between two and 12 times, but the state of the remains made it impossible to say the exact nature of her wounds.
