A group of children aged 9, 11, 12, and 15 were rescued after they were accused of molesting an 8-year-old girl in Toledo City , midwest Cebu, at around 2 p.m. on December 20, 2024. The police turned the case over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Toledo City since the offenders are all minors. The DSWD immediately launched an investigation and summoned the parents of the minor offenders.
When the three children were asked why they committed the act, they replied that they followed what they saw on the internet. According to the victim's mother, a 12-year-old newcomer to their neighborhood and the victim’s cousins brought the girl to the river a distance from their home, where the alleged sexual harassment took place. The 12-year-old boy allegedly gave the order to molest the girl, while the 9-year-old cousin of the victim was merely observing and playing with his genitalia. However, following the event, the nine-year-old boy told the victim's brother, who in turn told his mother, who in turn told the Toledo City Police Station about it. 'Kay ang papa anang usa ka bata sir naa man silay computeran sila diri pero ang nagda ang anak na niya unya daghan man mga bata mag computer, gipangutana lagi sa DSWD kung unsay ilang tan-awon niingon man nga PornHub,' the mother said.(Because the father of one of the kids, sir, owns a computer shop here that is managed by his son and is frequented by minors. When the DSWD asked them what they watch, they said PornHub). The mother explained that the incident has traumatized her daughter. She said she bought her a toy and a coloring book to keep her entertained. (AYB, TPT
