A tragic accident in Caloocan City claimed the life of a six-year-old boy and left his five-year-old cousin critically injured after they were hit by a taxi.

Two young children were hit by a taxi in Caloocan City, Philippines. One child, six-year-old Ismael, died from his injuries. His five-year-old cousin, JC, sustained serious injuries. CCTV footage shows the driver of the taxi stopping and gesturing for the children to move off the road. A woman approached the children and alerted them to the approaching vehicle, but they did not move in time. The taxi struck the children, pinning one under the vehicle.

The driver stopped the car and reversed to free the children. Ismael's condition deteriorated, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital. JC's condition is described as critical. The family of the victims has reportedly agreed to drop charges against the taxi driver
