IPOH: The decision in the case of a chicken trader accused of killing a divorcee six years ago has been postponed by the High Court here on Wednesday (April 12).

Mohd Nur Hussein Mohd Salleh, 40, was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code with the murder of Hamidah Abdul Rahman at her home in Taman Dato Lew Yap Sip here between midnight and 5am on March 13, 2017.

During the proceedings, lawyer Datuk Naran Singh, who represented Mohd Nur Hussein, said the Dewan Negara had just passed a Bill to abolish the mandatory death penalty in Malaysia.“Therefore we would request for a different date for the decision to allow us to see if we can submit an appeal,” he said.
